Notice of Hay Ground to Lease
Bids will be taken on a lease of the City of Allison Hay Ground for a 1-year term. The parcel (0730300061) consists of approximately 8 +/- acres.
Terms: Annual rent payable by one-half due upon being awarded the bid and the second half being payable on September 1st. Sealed bids shall state the dollar amount per acre along with name, address, and phone number. Bids must be received by 4:00 p.m. on April 27th, 2026. Sealed bids will be opened at the Council Meeting on April 27th,2026 and the highest bid will be awarded. The Allison City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
A map showing the ground that is up for bid is available at Allison City Hall. Sealed bids and inquiries should be directed to Allison City Hall, Attention: Hay Ground, 502 Locust Street, PO Box 647, Allison, Iowa 50602.

NOTICE:
The outdoor warning siren will be tested tomorrow, Wednesday, March 25th, at 10 a.m. in conjunction with the Statewide Tornado Drill.
Then, monthly tests will be completed from April to November on the third Wednesday of the month at 10:00am (weather permitting).

⚠️🌨️Due to the upcoming snowstorm that is in the forecast, please see the below reminders.
REMINDERS:
The City’s SIDEWALK ordinance states that property owners will be given 48 hours to clear all sidewalks of snow, ice and debris from sidewalks and to keep and maintain them free from hazards and unsafe conditions. Snow is NOT to be pushed into the streets. Violation of this ordinance will result in the City hiring the work done and assessing the costs plus administrative fees to the homeowners’ property taxes.
City ordinance states : “If a property owner does not remove snow, ice, or accumulations within 48 hours, the City may do so and assess the actual costs of the removal plus an administrative fee of $50 dollars against the property owner for collection in the same manner as a property tax.”
VEHICLES are to be removed from city streets in a snow emergency. A snow emergency is constituted by 1 inch or more of snow fall.
*** Please note that if your vehicle is not off of the road during a snow emergency the Butler County Sheriff's office will give you a ticket.

The City of Allison is accepting applications for the 2026 pool season. Applications may be obtained at Allison City Hall, 502 Locust Street from 8 am to 12:30 pm and 1:30 to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Applications will be sent to the North Butler Highschool and Clarksville School. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you!
The Manager will be paid $15/hr
Headguards will be paid $13/hr (when a headguard is needed)
Lifeguards will be paid $12/hr

The Friday sessions will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 10 p.m.
The Saturday & Sunday Sessions are from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
The cost for the class is $200.00 and anyone taking the classes must be 15 years old by the end of the training.
